Last visit, Aunty Devi told us her mattress was damaged by rats and she was low on diapers. Since sheโs an amputee with limited mobility, we didn’t wait for next monthโs supply run. We moved fast to hand-deliver a new mattress and 3 packs of diapers to her home โจ
During our previous visit, we noticed an elderly lady downstairs busily helping her neighbors. Touched by her kindness and optimism, we brought a bag of rice this time to visit her and have a heart-to-heart talk ๐ฌ
Aunty shared that she has worked for the same employer for 48 years. Sheโs raised her kids, seen her granddaughter join the police academy, and watched her employerโs children grow up too. At 68, she still cycles 2 hours daily to work, rain or shine ๐ฒ
7 months ago, she even rescued a puppy abandoned at a trash station. Now, her simple life is filled with the company of her dog and lifelong friends ๐ถ
