🆘 Berry was urgently hospitalised for breathing issues—possible lung infection or worse

Berry was once a furkid his previous owner had to give up. But after arriving at NLAS, he quickly won our hearts in his own way. Lively, affectionate, and always the first to run over and greet people, he became a favourite among many volunteers.

To us, Berry isn’t just a dog. He feels like a longtime companion, like family.

So it really shook us when this cheerful boy suddenly started acting off these past few days.

🐾 Something Felt Off: Berry’s Body Was Sending Signals

It started with a loss of appetite and low energy. We thought it was just a mild cold.
But a few days later, he began vomiting and had trouble breathing. We rushed him to the vet immediately.

After the initial checkup, the vet suspected a lung infection and recommended further tests. Berry was admitted for close observation and treatment. He was put on IV fluids and oxygen to help stabilise his condition.

Berry was discharged on May 7. He is now on a pneumonia treatment plan that requires at least three weeks of medication. We’re also waiting for lab results to confirm whether any cancer cells are present.

The vet reminded us to keep him calm and avoid any stress. His heart is unstable, and any excitement could worsen his condition.

💸 Berry’s Medical Bills Keep Rising and We’re Struggling to Keep Up

Berry’s treatment has already cost over RM2,000, and the expenses are still climbing. We want to give him the best care, but the financial pressure is real.

At NLAS, Berry is not the only one under our care. There are other dogs waiting for follow-up visits, neutering, or regular treatments. Medical costs are part of our daily routine, but emergencies like this one hit especially hard.

We don’t ask for help unless it’s truly needed, because we understand every ringgit comes from your hard work.

This time, we really need your support to help Berry pull through.

🧡 Berry May Be Old, But He’s Not Alone

Berry is a senior dog, and the vet has been honest with us that his body isn’t what it used to be. We don’t know how much time we still have with him, but as long as he’s fighting to live, we’ll keep fighting for him.

He’s the kind of dog who would nuzzle up to you during your volunteer shift and offer his paw without being asked.

Now he’s lying quietly on the ground, and all we want is to give him a little hope to hold on to.

📢 We need your help in two ways:

✅ Donate to support Berry’s treatment

Even RM10 or RM20 can give us hope for tomorrow. Every cent will go directly to medical care for Berry and the other dogs at NLAS.

✅ Share Berry’s story

Please pass Berry’s story to your friends, family, groups, and social networks. Let more people know there’s a brave soul fighting hard to survive quietly in the corner.

Your one share might be the help he needs to keep breathing.

🐶 We Ensure
