Funding Hope 511: A Childhood Steal by Leukemia

The Cruel Truth Revealed After a Fall

What seemed like an ordinary fall became the beginning of a nightmare for little Muhammad Fattah Aqmal. After the fall, Fattah suffered from persistent high fevers. Following detailed examinations by doctors, the family received the news they dreaded most—Fattah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Pre-B ALL), commonly known as “blood cancer.”

A Childhood Stolen by Leukemia

At just 4 years old, Fattah should be enjoying the carefree days of his childhood. Instead, his life is now dominated by two grueling 7-day chemotherapy sessions every month. On top of that, he has to endure painful spinal injections to control the spread of cancer cells. The innocent smile that once lit up his young face has been replaced by the toll of relentless suffering.

Cold and Lonely Hospital Nights

At an age when he most needs the comfort of his parents, Fattah has to spend countless lonely and cold nights in the hospital. The short visiting hours often end in tears as he struggles to part from his parents. He’s too young to understand why he can’t live a happy life surrounded by his family, like other kids of his age. Every scene is heart-wrenching.

The Overwhelming Strain on His Family

As the sole breadwinner for a family of seven, Fattah’s father, Encik Amar, works tirelessly to provide for his family and cover his son’s treatment costs. However, his limited income cannot keep up with the overwhelming medical expenses and daily household needs. The cost of treating leukemia is staggering, and Fattah also requires a clean and safe living environment to minimize the risk of infections. The weight of it all is suffocating Encik Amar.

The Silent Struggles of a Strong Father

During a home visit, we learned that Encik Amar is a resilient man who rarely asks for help. Despite the enormous pressure, he continues to shoulder the responsibility of his family. However, the current circumstances have exceeded what he can handle alone. He now needs the strength of the community to support him. To this end, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign with a goal of RM45,440 to help his family through this challenging time.
