But animals cannot
When they are hungry, hurt or scared, they suffer in silence

They wagged their tails with hope
Curled up in corners waiting for food, for affection, for warmth
But in return, they got left behind
They were thrown out like trash
Beaten by strangers
Chased by cars that never stopped 🚗
Because they cannot speak, we may never know
Are they hungry

We have rescued many who were abandoned and abused
But goodwill alone cannot pay for their needs
