8-year-old Zi Hao was diagnosed at birth with biliary atresia, a rare, life-threatening disease causing liver failure. He underwent bile duct removal surgery at 60 days old and a liver transplant at age 7. Although the surgery saved his life, his long recovery journey has only just begun.
To prevent life-threatening organ rejection, Zi Hao relies on lifelong medication and supplements. Buying meds out-of-pocket during hospital shortages, purchasing prescribed PediaSure, and driving monthly from Penang to Hospital Tunku Azizah in KL have completely drained their savings. πΈ
With the father working as a technician and mother as a kindergarten teacher, their income dropped drastically due to full-time caregiving. They cannot afford the RM 3,000 monthly care costs. Raising two other children, borrowing from relatives is no longer sustainable.
We are raising RM 36,000 to provide a monthly subsidy of RM 3,000 for 12 months, securing Zi Haoβs medical care for the year ahead. We hope kind-hearted donors will join us in protecting this hard-won hope β€οΈ
