As part of our street interview initiative, we met an elderly uncle who has been living on the streets alone.
He shared that he once had a family of his own, children he raised and loved. But over time, contact slowly faded, and now he finds himself completely alone. No visits, no calls, and no one comes looking for him anymore. Despite everything, he speaks calmly about his life, focusing on surviving each day with whatever he can find. There is quiet resilience in him, even in the midst of deep loneliness.
Stories like his remind us that homelessness is not only about the lack of shelter, but also about the weight of being forgotten by the people who once mattered most. We sat with him, listened to his story, and provided an aid pack with essential items to help him through the days ahead.
Because of your support and donations, we are able to continue reaching street friends like him, not just with aid, but with time, attention, and compassion. Thank you for helping us make sure they are seen, heard, and not left behind ❤️
